Awards

2011 - Best Historic Craft
Scoring 96.5 points the 1915 Old Town HW canoe with sponsons was awarded this distinction at the 33rd Annual Finger Lakes Antique and Classic Boat Show in Skaneateles, NY. We’d gloat, but some of the owners of those Chris-Crafts, Centurys and others would be upset, so smug reserve is in order.

2011 - Best Restored Small Craft
At 96 points, the c.1890 William McCaffery guide-boat emerged victorious. A truly rare boat that gave us a very nice restoration result. So, one show this year, two craft and two very nice awards

2010 – Best in Show, Non-powered
Scoring 98 points, the c.1906 Henry Kilburn Martin guide-boat was awarded one of the two top honors at the 46th annual Antique Boat Show in Clayton, NY on August 1st. We’ve heard some judges say that a 100-point boat doesn’t exist. This will not keep us from trying.

2010- Best Small Craft
Again, the H.K. Martin guide-boat was judged to be the top small craft at the 32nd annual Antique and Classic Boat Show in Skaneateles, NY on July 24th. At this show the same award cannot be made to the same people in consecutive years, hence no ‘Best in Show’ opportunity. We did the best we could.

2009 – Best in Show, Preserved
The c.1885 J.H. Rushton Bucktail was awarded top honors at the 31st Annual Finger Lakes Antique and Classic Boat Show in Skaneateles, New York on July 25th. Huge Centurys, Hacker Craft and Greavettes cowered in its diminutive presence. All hail small craft!

2008- 1st Place in the Canoe/Kayak category
The c.1915 B.N. Morris canoe scored 97 of a possible 100 points at the 31st Annual Western New York Antique and Classic Boat Show on September 7th. Thus, it was awarded 1st Place in the Canoe/Kayak category. The varnish wasn’t quite dry but it yearned for some water and fresh air.

2008- Best Small Craft
On July 27th the 1920 Old Town Charles River won Best Small Craft in the Preserved category at the 31st Annual Antique and Classic Boat Show in Skaneateles, New York. This award is a pretty big deal since we were judged against all other canoes and small craft so we’re kind of proud of it.

2007- First Place Non-powered Class
With 98 of a possible 100 points the Ricketson again prevailed at the 6th International Antique and Classic Boat Society held in Lake George, NY on September 29, 2007.

2007- Best Guide-boat Award
On August 5th our c.1888 E.G. Ricketson guide-boat scored 96 out of a possible 100 points at the 43rd Annual Antique Boat Show in Clayton, NY.

2006- Top Rowing Craft Award
Our c.1892 J.H. Rushton Guide-boat scored 94.5 of a possible 100 points to earn this honor on September 10th, 2006 at the 29th Annual Antique and Classic Boat Show held on Grand Island, NY.

2006- Best Overall Canoe Award
On August 6th, 2006 we won this distinction at the 42nd Annual Antique Boat Show in Clayton, NY. with our 1916 Old Town OTCA.
