Below you will find two lists of canoes and guide boats. The first shows craft that are currently being restored, and the second are those that are in the restoration queue. So as not to overwhelm the site with data, we’ve chosen to include just the bare facts on this portion of our inventory. If you find something that interests you and wish to request a restoration, or desire to specify certain elements of the restoration, simply contact us (click here) and we can provide more information and cover all the necessary details. As restorations are completed they will be moved to the "Restored Canoes & Guideboats" section, so please visit these pages regularly for updates.
Our inventory is always in flux. We’ve had the great fortune to access a wonderful and widely varied trove of antique stock. Our access continues such that if you are looking for a certain type, size, model or age of canoe, there is a chance we’ll be able to accommodate you. Again, we’re but a click away and would love to hear from you.

50 lb model, CS grade
|
Late in November we chemically stripped this very rare 11’ version of the 50 pounder and found just 2 cracked ribs along with entirely intact planking. There is some work to be done on the gunwales and one deck must be replaced. The seats are original as is the lone thwart.

Adirondack Guide-boat
|
We'll be replacing the planking and about 9 ribs on this boat. The remainder of the hull and top memebers are in very good condition and will be preserved. H.K and his father William A., both of Saranac Lake, NY, were considered the finest guide-boat craftsmen in the Adirondacks at that time. H.K. continued with his dads' 'egg-shell' design and made many of his own stylistic improvements. This boat is one of the first that H.K. made on is own (at age 17) when his father was in poor health and ownership of the business was in transition. It is remarkable in that the seats, oarstraps, oars and yoke are all original. The makers nameplate is intact. SOLD

Squarestern "Speed" model with sponsons
|
Good condition requiring several new ribs, interior hull refinishing and new canvas. This boat is significant in two respects. 1926 was the first year Old Town offered a ‘speed’ version in their catalog. Made in 1925, this boat was one of the first units to have the new design featuring a more pronounced ‘V’ hull and a slightly cut down transom top to accommodate shorter outboard lower unit shafts. Furthermore, this was one of the first boats of this type they made in an AA grade. Aside from the interior hull, all of the other components are mahogany even the transom and seats.
